Q In this activity, you will take your learning to the next level by applying and synthesizing (A&S) concepts explored in this module. Instructions Choose ONE question option (1 or 2) to answer. Place your chosen question and the formulated answer* within a separate document. Integrate information from the resources above to develop and support your answers. *Your answer will be scored on completeness, correctness, clarity, and conciseness, and the degree of synthesis and application of the related concepts, not on how many words they contain. More is not necessarily better! This is NOT an essay assignment.* Save your assignment using a naming convention that includes your first and last name and the activity number (or description). Do not add punctuation or special characters. This activity is due by the last day of the module. Please read through all sections before proceeding to the next page, and refer back whenever necessary. • Question Option 1 • Question Option 2 A regional airport plans to expand to increase flight volume by 50% - adding new runways, a larger terminal, and a new tower. You are an environmental expert who has been asked by the city manager to evaluate the noise pollution impacts to both the residents of a surrounding neighborhood and the wildlife in a nearby wildlife refuge. Using your knowledge of the nature of sound and the impacts of noise pollution, discuss four potential impacts - two human and two environmental - of noise pollution and present a solution for how the city could ask airport developers to mitigate each impact. Hint: Review "Noise and Light Pollution" in the Module 9 Lesson. Please proceed to the Question Option 2 section. Turnitin for Student Activity Your paper will automatically be evaluated through Turnitin when you submit your assignment in this activity. Plagiarized answers, or answers that are highly paraphrased, will not receive credit. Submissions containing a significant amount of plagiarized material will receive a score of zero and could prompt academic integrity violation procedures through the University. Sound waves are considered pollution if they cause a severe impact on humans and the environment if sound waves are harmful and annoying to individuals. Noise pollution damages the hearing capability causes hypertension (high blood pressure) and diseases related to the heart (Cardiovascular issue). The significant environmental impact involves the disturbance of the breeding cycle of wild animals and sometimes causes species extinction. The noise pollution from the aircraft decreases the hearing ability of the wild animals. Wild animals depend on the vibration of predators' sound that keeps them away for survival. They cannot get food and reproduce appropriately because they cannot receive a vibrational signal from their prey and meeting animal. Alter the feeding pattern of the livestock.
